Cages (continued) My most creative cage idea was to convert a non-functional shower stall that was in my basement into a flight. This shower stall is a enamalized metal one and is about 7 feet tall. The bottom was nearly rusted out so I poured concrete into it to make it level with the concrete basement floor. The concrete is painted and sealed with acrylic. I covered the top with 1/4 inch square galvanized mesh. The flight front is made from old cage tray bottom inserts from my metal cages. I never use these wire bottoms that came with my purchased metal cages. I attached 6 of them to a hand made wooden frame and made doors in them. If necessary, the flight front can come off by unscrewing wing nuts installed through the wall of the shower into the wooden frame. |
