crop - sac-like structures located on either side of a chick's throat, into which the parents feed young chicks. When stuffed full, seed can be seen through the skin of the crop and the crop may bulge to a size larger than the babies head. In the first few days of feeding only one side of the crop is filled so do not be concerned.
